Arrack...
Arrack was born and raised in the underground cave systems of the drow regime, in many ways he grew up in a normal Drow environment (normal for a drow that is..)
At some point he began training with the other young drows in the fighting pits, he was quite a fighter but his trainers quickly found out that his real talent was far more sinister, he was able to move without a sound and when he walked the dark halls of the Drow, he was virtually invisible to the eye. They quickly dispatched the young Arrack into the hands of the cult of thieves, there he moved on with his training although this time it was far more shrouded in mystery, and his teachers were impressed. They soon found his extraordinary hatred and cruelty a clear advantage and they trained him in all the arts of the thief so that in time he could advance and become a drow assassin of the underdark regime. He was quickly enrolled in the services of the sinister drow lords, happy as they where to have such a talented new thief amongst them, they paid him for many missions both to obtain secret informations or to kill and torture the enemies of the Drow. Arrack liked this, but as time went on he thirsted for more power and fame for himself, he wanted more than the lords of the drow could or would give him. He was getting bored...
So one day he walked out of the caves to go find new employers or enemies (either way it ought to be fun), a bloody day it was and the drow guarding the tunnels were stabbed, strangled, cut and killed, not even their infra-vision and keen elf hearing could warn them of the danger. Standing at the entrance Arrack was surprised the sunlight, it was the first time he saw it and he didn't like it one bit, so quickly he clad himself in one of the guards black robes and sneaked out of the caves. He wandered around in a couple of hours, trying to find shelter for the cruel light burning above him, when he suddenly heard the sound of a human swearing, he sneaked closer to the sound and saw that it was a wagon stuck in the mud. The driver was very angry and his 2 guards didn't seem too happy either, doing the thing he knew best he quickly sneaked up to the wagon and dispatched the two guards. He then captured the driver and made him suffer in ways only a sick drow mind would ever think of. Half an hour later when Arrack had gotten all the fun he would get out of him, the almost dead driver tried to slit his own throat in a vain attempt to escape further torture, but Arrack swiftly gutted him in the stomach so that his intestines became one with the mud, he then bowed down towards the driver and with his whispering cold voice he asked him how to get to the nearest town, the almost dead driver told him with his last breath the directions to Shadow and then collapsed on the forest floor with a last prayer to the gods that had abandoned him, on his bloody lips.
"Shadow", Arrack muttered that sounds like a good place to start my "journey". And as Arrack kicked the drivers corpse, he thought for himself, these surface dwellers are quite amusing, if short lived, to play with. Maybe this "Shadow", would be an interesting place to start my, "ponders", journey I hope that this city lives up to its promising name, of none of this so called, "sunlight"
