Born and raised near the majestic Dragonspire Mountains to the far north, Lahnna Fergus was brought up in a large community of firbolgs. She had a happy childhood playing with other children and helping her parents around their wooden house. Both her parents worked - her mother designed jewellery necklaces and trinkets, and her father was one of the local weaponsmiths. The village was located at the base of the mountain on the outskirts of a large forest. A river and a road path were also nearby, and so occasionally merchants and travellers would pass through their community to buy and sell goods, and also to rest. Many firbolgs weren't too keen on having so many strangers come into their village at first, but after a while they began to get used to the small crowds. When Lahnna became a young adult, she started learning both her parents' trade. She became an expert weaponsmith and so she started helping out her father at the shop.
One day, a large group of human and elven fighters entered the village to browse around the shops and eateries as well as to rest and soak up the beautiful scenery around them. Early next morning, Lahnna, being the curious firbolg that she was, saw the fighters sparring with their swords in the outskirts of the forest. She approached and stood near them, watching intently at their moves. Seeing her interest in their sparring and also recognizing Lahnna as the weaponsmith's daughter, one of the fighters decided to teach her some lessons on using his sword. As her fighting skills improved with one weapon, she decided to learn how to use other various weapons. She eventually became good friends with the group of fighters.
A few weeks later, dark storm clouds brewed over the peaks of the mountain. As the sky darkened, an evil laughter was heard coming from the mountain peak. Lahnna, and many others, looked up towards the mountain and noticed dark clouds at the top. Suddenly a great ball of light appeared above the village square. An angry face of an old man materialized in the light.
The angry man snarled, "You are within my domain! Leave this area and I will spare your lives! You have until tomorrow morning to comply!"
The ball of light disappeared and the sky cleared up but a dark cloud and rumbling of thunder was still seen and heard from the mountain peak.
Everyone gathered at the village square to discuss the predicament. Lahnna glanced over to the group of fighters and noticed that they were mumbling a quiet prayer to Tempus. After much discussion and a vote, the citizens of the village were not going to leave and that they would stand their ground against this unknown evil sorceror.
As morning arrived, a huge army of undead soldiers appeared, surrounded and began advancing on the village. When many travellers and merchants saw that the army were approaching the village, they ran away in fear since many did not know how to use weapons to defend themselves. Most firbolgs as well as the group of fighters, remained in defiance to defend the village. A battle ensued and Lahnna was caught in the middle of it all. The soldiers started attacking everyone in sight and that anyone who tried to leave would be killed. As best as she could, Lahnna tried to fend off the soldiers with her sword but failed. She was slashed across her right shoulder and face, and then fell unconscious onto the ground from her wounds.
Minutes or hours later, Lahnna woke up dazed and confused. She glanced around and noticed many dead bodies lying everywhere. Many were firbolg, and some were elven and human. The undead army of soldiers were nowhere to be seen. Frantically, she searched everywhere for her mother and father, only to learn that they were killed in the battle. She weeped for her parents for a while until she heard moaning near a broken cart. Lahnna headed over to the cart to find one of the fighters of Tempus. He was very badly injured and needed medical attention. He whispered to her that she had fought well and that she should not forget what had happened here today. He also mentioned to Lahnna that he would not survive and that he would like his body to be brought back to the temple of Tempus at Graez. With that he drew his last breath. Looking around at the devastation and carnage around her, she knew there would be no point staying. She spent the remainder of the day burying loved ones and patching up her wounds. That night, she placed the fighter's wrapped-up body onto a large stretcher. Not looking back, Lahnna then proceeded to drag the stretcher with her and head off to find the temple of Tempus. After a week of journeying throughout the lands, she eventually found the temple. The clerics at the temple took the body and gave a proper burial ceremony. Lahnna decided to stay at the temple to mourn and rest from her ordeal and to also learn more about Tempus. Many weeks went by and soon afterwards Lahnna decided to leave the temple to search for any of her fellow firbolgs that may have managed to escape the destruction of their village. Her first stop...the city of Shadow.
After many years of fighting in petty wars and getting involved in disputed battles across the lands, she had decided to leave all of that behind her. Not being able to find any firbolgs from her clan for such a long time, she started getting a bit depressed. With nothing much to do, she travelled around quite a bit and had ended up wandering near a temple by a cliff. Looking all around her, the view was magnificant from the clifftops and the constant warm breeze was comforting against her skin. Going into the temple, she learned about the Lady of the Winds, Akadi. After a month of staying by the temple and learning from the clerics, Lahnna decided to leave and continue on her travels with a better understanding of the outlook on her life...
