The most worthy Sir Taren, when the Duke himself does not choose to do so personally, leads the Knights of Valor...the older, more experienced Knights of Lyonesse. Many of them earned their spurrs in the Goblin Wars some eighteen years past. It would seem that Sir Taren sees little difference betwixt hunting boars and hunting the foul creatures that would ride them into battle.

In the time of the Goblin Wars, the Knights of Valor rode far and wide, and for a brief time, e'en fought in the fringes of Athel Loren. It was there, cutting off a literal horde of goblinkind and slaying the Wyvern of Gorbash One-Tusk, that the Knights of Valor were granted the right to carry their unicorn standard into battle, showing that the whole of the company had earned the gratitude of the Woodland Folk.
